NEW DELHI: In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Delhi Jal Board has decided to extend the rebate and penalty waiver scheme till December 31, 2020.
Vice-chairperson of the jal board, Raghav Chadha, said: “We empathise with, and understand how the pandemic has affected fellow Delhiites. The government has decided to extend the rebate scheme until December 31. DJB is proactive, and this step will give an opportunity to the residents who couldn’t find themselves in a situation to pay their bills.”
The scheme, which was announced in the run up the assembly elections, covers consumers whose bills were pending till March 31, 2019. Under the scheme, 100% late payment surcharge waiver is given to all domestic, as well as commercial consumers.
