India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was spotted at the Ranchi airport on Tuesday as he joined his brother Krunal to wish MS Dhoni in person on the World Cup hero’s 39th birthday.

In a video going viral on social media, Hardik Pandya, sporting a face mask, along with brother Krunal can be seen walking out of the Ranchi airport. The duo were surrounded by paparazzi and fans before they boarded an SUV.

The Pandya brothers left directly to Dhoni’s farmhouse in Ranchi from the Birsa Munda Airport. Hardik was seen avoiding questions from the media gathered outside the airport.

According to well-placed sources, MS Dhoni will not have a birthday bash this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Only a few people from his close circle are expected to meet him on his birthday.

Hardik has often stressed that Dhoni is more than a mentor and senior teammate as he considers the veteran wicketkeeper as his brother. Notably, Hardik was part of Sakshi Singh Rawat’s birthday party in Ranchi in November 2019.

Hardik who is a close friend of the Dhonis made sure he lit up the birthday bash with his presence. Dressed in blue checkered suit and trousers, Pandya was seen posing with Sakshi at the birthday bash.

Earlier in the day, Hardik took to social media to wish Dhoni on his 39th birthday.

“Happy birthday to my Bittu from your Chittu Hugging face My friend who has taught me to be a better human being and stood by me in bad times,” Hardik wrote in his post.

Dhoni’s childhood friend and manager Mihir Diwakar on Tuesday said the India star would be having ‘queit’ birthday this year.

“I spoke to him past midnight. It was a normal business talk. As usual, Dhoni would be at home with his family, with a quiet birthday celebration,” Diwakar told PTI news agency.

Dhoni has decided not to do any commercial endorsements amid the Covid-19 pandemic and is instead busy with organic farming, according to his manager.

“He has stopped brand endorsements and has said that till life comes to normal, he won’t do any commercial activity.”
