NAVI MUMBAI: Five days after the Navi Mumbai police busted a racket in which used and discarded hand gloves were being cleaned and then sold for reuse, crime branch officials said that the racket originates from Bengaluru. Two more people have been arrested in this connection, taking the total arrests in this case so far to three. In all 35,000 kg of gloves have been seized so far.
“The discarded gloves were bought from a supplier in Bengaluru,” said assistant police inspector Rahul Rakh.
The accused, Prashant Surve, told the police that he bought the gloves from Bhiwandi and Aurangabad. A person was arrested from Bhiwandi on Friday and another from Aurangabad on Saturday.
