ULHASNAGAR: Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) on Monday decided to scrap the “odd-even (P1 and P2) formula” implemented for shop owners in the city as part of the lockdown restriction except in hotspot zones.
The move came after Covid-19 cases have came in to control in city and also looking at rising demands of traders.
The traders welcomed the move saying that business will be back to normal from Tuesday after UMC scrapped p1 and p2 formula. In his order, UMC Commissioner Dr Raja Dayanidhi said, “The regulation of p1 and p2 will be cancelled and now from Tuesday (18 August) all shops can be opened both sides between 9am and 7pm”.
The Ulhasnagar Trade Association and several other traders associations in the city have been demanding for cancellation of the P1 and P2 formula.
Rajesh Vadhrya, standing committee chairman of Ulhasnagar Municipal corporation said, “The move will help traders to back to their normal life but while remaining shops open all should follow social distancing norms to avoid further spread of Covid cases”.
The Covid cases in the city are now under control and recovery rate is also above 93 % till Monday. On Monday city reported 38 fresh Covid-19 cases taking total numbers of patients 7,409 out of which so far 6,921 patients have cured while only 303 active patients are taking treatment.
