Captains at the toss
Shreyas Iyer: “We are looking to bat first. I think we are doing pretty well while defending. The ground factor also plays an important role. Two changes – Alex Carey comes in for Hetmyer. Rahane comes in for Pant. The wicket looks amazing, we hope it gets slower in the second innings.”
Rohit Sharma: “At the end of the day you have to play good cricket, toss shouldn’t be a factor. It’s a good challenge for us, we know the conditions here. We need to restrict them to a decent total. We are playing with the same team. I don’t see a reason to change. It’s been a great journey (150th match for MI) – it’s a good landmark to have.”
Team news – Delhi Capitals have two changes. Alex Carey comes in for Shimron Hetmyer. Ajinkya Rahane comes in for injured Rishabh Pant. Mumbai Indians have fielded an unchanged XI.

Toss news – Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer wins toss, opts to bat against Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi.
Pitch report: “It’s the same pitch that was used for the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab yesterday. The bowlers need to target the wider areas outside off against Pandya and Pollard – similar lines that were used against Russell by Arshdeep. It’s a good wicket to bat on with even grass covering. Team batting first should be able to post a good score looking at the pitch,” said JP Duminy and Daren Ganga.
Players from both the teams are out in the middle, warming up ahead of the blockbuster clash.
