MUMBAI: The state road transport agency, MSRTC, has proposed hiking bus fares by 50% in view of 50% reduction in seating capacity post-lockdown. The fare hike proposal is to be sent to the state government, but no decision has been taken so far, said sources.
Transport minister Anil Parab on Monday announced Rs 50 lakh insurance cover for MSRTC’s frontline workers.
Kerala temporarily hiked fares while Odisha had planned but did not.
