MUMBAI: The 18-year-old boy, who went missing after entering the Marve beach in Malad on Sunday, was found dead around 9am on Monday. Mohsin Shah, the youngster, had gone to the beach with six others. One of his friends, Ashraf Chaudhary, 13, also drowned at the beach.
The group of boys are all residents of Gate no. 7 in Malwani. They had gone to the beach for an outing on Sunday. Around 5.30pm, they entered the water for a swim. But while four of them could emerge out safely, Shah and Chaudhary couldnt do so.
Local residents alerted the police and fire brigade. A search operation was carried out and Chaudhary’s body was found around 8pm on Sunday. Shah remained missing. The search was called off at night due to darkness. It was resumed on Monday morning. After Shah’s body was found, the police informed his parents. Two accidental death records have been made by the Malwani police.
