MUMBAI: Three men who allegedly shot dead a real estate developer from Karnatka earlier this month were arrested in the city on Tuesday. The arrests come a day after a key accused was held from Ghatkopar. The police said the murder was a fallout over money and a plot of land.
The slain developer from Hubbali, Sayyed Irfan, was fired at by three bike-borne men on August 7.
On Tuesday, the crime branch arrested Nilesh Nandgaonkar (40), Sunil Bansode
(55) alias Mama, and Navnath Dolas (35). Their names came up during the interrogation of their “mentor” Rajendra Rawat alias Raju Nepali held in Dahisar on Monday.
Senior inspector Satish Tawre said that little-known gangster, Yusuf Bachkana, currently in a jail in Karnataka, had promised Rs 10 lakh to kill Irfan. While Rs 10,000 was paid before the shooting, Rs 10,000 was paid thereafter. The rest was to be settled by end of August, said inspector Tawre.
