*Update at 8.32am: India’s Covid-19 recoveries cross 15-lakh mark. Infection still remains concentrated in 10 states that contribute more than 80% of the new cases, reports ANI quoting ministry of health & family welfare
*Maharashtra on Sunday reported 390 deaths, its highest so far in five months of the pandemic, while for the second day in a row, Maharashtra added over 12,000 Covid-19 cases.
*The cumulative death toll of Maharashtra stood at 17,757 on Sunday. With the addition of 12,248 cases, the overall Covid-19 tally jumped to 5,15,332. The highest daily addition was reported on Saturday with 12,822 cases.
*Mumbai’s contribution was 1,066 cases and it accounted for 12.3% of deaths reported on Sunday.
*Total cases in Mumbai are now 1,23,382; with 48 fatalities on Sunday, overall toll rose to 6,799. And active cases in Mumbai are at 19,700.
*In a silver lining though, Maharashtra reported more discharges than daily additions- a record 13,348 people were discharged on Sunday, taking total discharges to 3,51,710, crossing the 3.5 lakh mark. The state’s rate of recovery was 68.2%.
