MUMBAI: The Western Railway has recorded a total loss of over Rs 2,255 crore in revenue on account of the pandemic from March to August 22. This includes Rs 339 crore for the suburban section and Rs 1,916 crore for non suburban, WR chief spokesperson Sumit Thakur, said on Sunday.
WR has given a refund of Rs 418 crore due to cancellation of tickets. However, WR earned Rs 3,339 crore by running its freight trains during lockdown.
