MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government has allowed interdistrict movement within the municipal corporation limits of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region from Friday. This means people can travel freely between Mumbai, Thane, Vasai-Virar, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar and Panvel, without needing an e-pass.
For now, interdistrict travel will be limited to private vehicles, said officials; taxis and autos will be only allowed to ply for essential services.
Travel to other parts of the state is still regulated.
