A HERO FOR A NIGHT (1927)
Cast: Glenn Tryon, Patsy Ruth Miller, Burr McIntosh, Lloyd Whitlock, Bob Milasco, Ruth Dwyer, Bobbie. Directed by William James Craft. ~ ~ ~ Cab driver Hiram Hastings (Glenn Tryon) takes a correspondence course in flying as he aspires to become the next Charles Lindbergh. In order to achieve his goal he must convince wealthy Sam Sloan (Burr McIntosh) to finance his transatlantic flight, and tries at the same time to convince Sloan's daughter (Patsy Ruth Miller) to marry him. Neither seems particularly eager to accept his proposal but Hastings is not one to give up easily. Great fast-paced fun from start to finish with an ending we really enjoyed. (Watch for his monkey Bobbie, who has one of the funniest gags in the picture.)
